Drivers Education

The Purpose of Driver Education

Driver education programs help prepare new drivers to operate vehicles safely and responsibly.

These programs provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand traffic

laws, recognize hazards, and make safe decisions behind the wheel.

Driver education teaches students about:

• traffic signs and signals

• safe driving techniques

• traffic laws and regulations

• defensive driving strategies

• crash prevention

By learning these concepts before driving independently, new drivers can develop safer habits

and avoid many common mistakes that lead to crashes. Driver education also helps students

build confidence while preparing them to pass the Texas driver license examination.
